Welcome to History Lizzie!

It’s lovely to meet you! I’m Dr Lizzie Rogers, an historian of the eighteenth century. I’m particularly interested in gender, objects, learning, collecting and country houses. I also love writing about museums, art, books and period drama… find all those things, and more, here on my blog! I am always interested in discussing new ideas and projects – read more about my research here, and don’t forget to get in touch with me here.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a Q&A session about Jane Austen, “Pride and Prejudice” and country houses this afternoon ❤️ I had so much fun and am so grateful for all the questions, and to the exceptionally lovely @emmarosalia, Andy McInnes and to Edgehill University for having me ❤️ and yes I did wear gold sparkly shoes and a vintage dress to join in from home, I got far too excited 😂📖
