It is a truth universally acknowledged that although I am an historian of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, I can’t help that I find the Regency period perhaps the most interesting of all – it is hard not to, when dramas, novels and the work of my most favourite author, Jane Austen, pull me back there all the time. So this makes me especially excited to share with you some great news…
I am thrilled to announce that I am helping to launch BBC History’s new venture, the HistoryExtra Academy, next month with a course on Regency History.
The HistoryExtra Academy will be running short courses each month on a particular theme, and it is kicking off on January 8th 2024 with a four-week course led by me all about this very short period – only just under a decade – in British history, that has huge ramifications culturally, economically and politically, many of which we still feel today.
Here I am telling you a bit more about the course…
I have had so much fun researching, writing and filming content for this course, and I hope that if you want to know more about Regency History, you will find it super interesting too!
Find out more information on the course here.
