Celebrating the release of Bridgerton Season 3 (Part 1)!

Happy Sunday! It’s been an exciting few days in which we have FINALLY (after 2 years!) been able to see part of the new season of Bridgerton on screen. Without any spoilers, I can safely say it has been worth the wait, and I can’t wait for Part 2 to drop on June 13th!

It’s been so brilliant to see a period I research and am so fascinated by play out on screen in such a unique way, with fun storytelling and interesting interpretations of historical details mixed with modern eyes.

I am also fortunate enough that being an historian of the period has meant that I have had some really fun opportunities the last few days to write and consult on Bridgerton and the real histories it represents!

I am so excited to share some of these below (and thankful for these opportunities) and hope that you enjoy:

On BBC HistoryExtra: “Did women in the Regency era have good friendships?”

Consultant for People Magazine: “How Accurate Is Bridgerton? We Asked a Regency Historian What the Series Gets Right (and Wrong)”

Consultant for the Mirror: “EXCLUSIVE: Bridgerton’s debauchery and love affairs reflect what really goes on in British society”

  1. Excellent interviews, Lizzie, and I was intrigued especially by Mrs Crackenthorpe as The Female Tatler, whom I had to immediately go and look up online. 🙂
